Internet is not a safety place. We can’t put too much
personal information on the Internet right now. People can find you and track
you from your Facebook, Twitter, or any kind of network. Six ways of internet privacy risks are
influence our privacy.

Unwanted Disclosure—People may get to your information that you
didn’t want everyone to see. And also people may lose their jobs because of the
information that post on Facebook or any kind of network. Even you set the
pictures or videos that not everyone can see the pictures or videos that you
post online, but people still can see those pictures or videos somehow.

Surveillance—People may see your personal life though the Internet
without their knowledge. They don’t know
why they can see so much information about you thought the Internet and
sometimes you even don’t know who can see those pictures or personal
information though the Internet.

Instability-The online data policies may change periodically. None
of the Internet companies that can guarantee the rule of data policies may not
change tomorrow. Some Internet companies that sell your personal information to
the third parties. This is called secondary use of data. In this case, no one
can guaranteed the purpose of collected data that how will use in the Internet
network

Spillovers—in many ways that the personal information may lead to
the third party. For example, Facebook's "friend of a friend" feature
potentially exposes personal data to third parties. One pernicious use of this
type of data is by unscrupulous marketers who mine their friends' networks for
business prospects.

Denigration—also we can see some negative representation of
reputation in any kind of Internet side.
Many of them are not true. Some people will distortion the fact, and
put wrong information online. Just like you may tagging of photos in Facebook
or any kind of social network. By some accident you may tag the person in the
wrong position of the photo. Or posting negative information on someone’s
profile page.
Disagreement-people like to share information online right
now, but a lot of people do it in wrong way. Like Facebook allows people to tag
other person in photos. We need make sure the name tag in every photo that is
one hundred present clear. Most of time, there has so many people in one photo
that people may not give the right position of each person in the photo. Wrong person tag or wrong photo will give the
person who sees this photo a lot of disagreement.

Am with you on your first point. I find it very disturbing how some people may post pictures of you online just harm you. People always keep some personal photos on their phones which make them accessible to a lot of their friends and co-workers who can easily use the pictures in a bad way by just posting them online. It even happened that people mistakenly posted some photos online and caused themselves a lot of troubles, and as you said, they even lost their jobs for such mistakes.
ReplyDeleteyes, you are right. That why we need careful about any of our friends' posting picture. If you find out any picture that will harm you. You need tell your friend to delete or fix this picture.
DeleteInternet privacy is a huge topics recently. As each social network begins to expand we all as a society need to be aware of the things we publish online. Our online persona can destroy our true public image offline. It can be detrimental to people's social life. On the flip side social network has made it possible to connect and network with unlimited amounts of people, depending on how you use the internet.

It is clear that companies collect data from us to help their marketing plans, which are extremely specific to our personal tastes. We need to manage our own "cookies" online, and realize what we do online is always being watched. As creepy as big brother is, he's watching me type this right now...
Be careful to use any kind of internet tool. And make sure to delete any cookies or anything will let people to track you. Using some protection for your laptop or computer will be a good way to protected your privacy.
